Scripture is clear that Baptism isn’t only a good idea, but a major focus of the lifestyle of a Believer in Jesus. While the water may not hold any magic or mystery, the symbolizations speak volumes. Baptism is the outward expression of an inward commitment. Scripture likens Baptism to us being buried with Christ and raised with Him in new life. “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” – Romans 6:3-4
